History of Eskimo Sno
The first Eskimo Sno stand opened in the summer of 1999 at 1724 W. Lindsey St. in the Homeland Parking Lot where it continues to operate today! In the summer of 2000, Eskimo Sno opened another stand on the Eastside of Norman at E. 12th & Robinson in the Dollar General Parking Lot. In 2001, the Eastside Eskimo Sno stand moved to 12th St. & Alameda (where Raising Canes is located now) and operated there through 2004. Due to the construction of new businesses in that area, that stand was relocated to the Robinson Crossing Shopping Center on the Westside of Norman in 2005 where it operated there until 2009. After not having an Eskimo Sno on the Eastside of Norman for a few years, we finally came back in the Fall of 2006 with the 1st ever Eskimo Sno store, which includes a drive thru & walk-in area. We were excited to be back on the Eastside of Norman. Our Eastside store is located at 867 12th Ave NE in the Damann Plaza Shopping Center where it is still in operation!
In the summer of 2007, we added Eskimo Sno To Go, a mobile trailer equipped to provide Eskimo Sno at events, fundraisers, schools, & private parties! We were now able to travel around the state and bring the enjoyment of Eskimo Sno to anyone that asked us!
In the Spring of 2010, we moved our Westside Robinson Crossing stand indoors into the a retail space in the shopping center. We moved in the space located at 1228 N. Interstate Dr. and now had an indoor Westside location with both indoor and outdoor seating. Our Westside Indoor store is our largest location and continues to provide delicious Eskimo Sno today. We also provide the world’s best “Nancy’s Cupcakes” at our Robinson Crossing indoor store from our friends at “Cookies N’ Cards” which is located at Alameda & 12th St. on the Eastside of Norman.
In 2011, we added another Mobile Unit to the Eskimo Sno arsenal, “The Eskimo SnoMobile!” We converted a van into an Eskimo Sno on Wheels which travels all around the OKC metro bringing our delicious treats to our happy customers!
The 2nd Eskimo Sno stand that was moved around the City of Norman a few times has finally found a home on the SouthEast side of Norman in the Family Video parking lot at Constitution & E. 12th St. where it remains today.
In the summer of 2013, we ventured outside of Norman in South OKC to open our 1st Eskimo Sno stand outside the Norman city limits. We built a new stand located at 10601 S. Western Ave. in South Oklahoma City at the SW corner of 104th & S. Western. We were so excited to bring our product to the South Oklahoma City area.
In 2014, we add our 3rd & largest mobile unit to the Eskimo Sno family with our newest Eskimo Sno Trailer which has 2 serving windows to accommodate crowds and events in the thousands! We are able to make over 1000 Sno Cones in less than 2 hours with our newest addition!
And in 2015, we adopted “Moe”, our Eskimo Sno mascot! So be on the lookout for our Eskimo Sno mascot “Moe” hanging around and bringing smiles to kids faces at Eskimo Sno events and all our locations! “Moe” is our 6 foot tall life-size Sno Cone that brings Eskimo Sno fun to everyone he meets!
Currently we have two Eskimo Sno indoor stores that operate in Norman seasonally from March to October. Our two Norman Stands and our South OKC stand will operate in the summer months from April to September. Our Eskimo Sno To Go Mobile Trailer and Eskimo SnoMobile began booking events around the 1st of March and end its traveling season at the end of October. We hope to expand even more in the future years to come. If you would like more info on the possibility of owning and operating an Eskimo Sno in your area, feel free to contact us at email@example.com.
We are truly blessed to be able to sustain and continue our business for over 17 years. We couldn’t have done it without the support and patronage from our customers and the city of Norman. We are a locally owned Norman family business that takes pride in our friendly customer services and excellent product. We can’t thank everyone enough who has made our shaved ice dreams come true!
Owners, Adrian & Jennii Buendia.
